General Georeserve Policies

The georeserve is an award-winning environmental conservation area and a native plant and wildlife sanctuary. Kindly leave any smoking paraphernalia and pets at home and observe the Leave No Trace policy at all times.

The georeserve policies are enforced in all areas and activities inside the georeserve, including weddings and events. These policies revolve around the fact that the georeserve is a sanctuary for plant and animal life, hence they are the rightful owners and dwellers of this area, and we are mere visitors to their home. These policies include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Leave no Trace Policy. Everything that has been brought into the event must be brought out. Littering of any kind is not allowed. The LNT policy is further discussed in Section 8.4 (‘Cleanliness and Waste Management’).
  2. No Smoking/Vaping and/or No Possession of Smoking/Vaping Paraphernalia. The park is strictly a non-smoking zone due to the air and health pollution that it causes. (including but not limited to tobacco, e-cigarettes, vapes, etc.) Guests must be advised not to bring any paraphernalia to the event.
  3. Do not feed nor touch nor taunt the animals. In a case that you are fortunate to encounter wildlife, do not feed, touch, or taunt the animals. This may include monitor lizards, snakes, civet cats, cloud rats, and monkeys, among others. Picking up, stepping on, bringing home or damaging flowers, rocks, and other specimens are likewise prohibited. All of these are here for everyone to enjoy.
  4. No shouting and/or screaming. Excessive and boisterous noise to the point of disturbing wildlife and other guests or activities inside the georeserve is not permitted.
  5. All children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Children are not permitted to wander the grounds unattended by an adult. This is for safety and security reasons given the unique terrain of the area
  6. Loitering beyond the venue is also prohibited.
  7. CELEBRANT and guests should take care of their belongings and do not leave them unattended. MGFI will not be held liable for any loss or damages of CELEBRANT or any person’s belongings prior to, during, or after the event. However, if found by any venue personnel, lost and left behind items and/or equipment will be kept in the Administration Office up to a maximum of fourteen (14) days. Should this case happen to you, please contact MGFI immediately.
  8. Carpooling is highly recommended to minimize the carbon footprint of your wedding. But a total of 35 parking slots are available and anything above this must be coordinated with MGFI.
  9. Bringing of pets is not allowed for the protection and peace of our native and natural wildlife within the georeserve. This is also for the proper cleanliness and waste management of the venue.
  10. Additional COVID Measures for guests and crew, subject to updated government and georeserve protocols at the time of event:
    • Must not have a fever or have had fever higher than 37.5 Celsius in the last 14 days (upon arrival, must understand that they will not be allowed in if they already have this on the day of event).
    • If previously sick, must already be well for a duration of 14 days (upon arrival, must understand that they will not be allowed in if they already have this on the day of visit)

    • Additional social etiquette to observe: Coughing and sneezing on elbow, social distancing of at least two meters, avoid or lessen skin contact (hugging, handshake)
